Patrick Mahomes has transformed the Kansas City Chiefs ever since they traded Alex Smith back in 2018. In Mahome’s first season as the starter, he threw for 50 touchdowns, 5,097 yards, and 12 interceptions. Now in 2025, Mahomes is a 3-time Super Bowl Champion who is suiting up for his fifth Super Bowl matchup. If Mahomes prevails and leads the Chiefs to victory in Super Bowl LIX, they will be the first team ever to win three consecutive Super Bowl Championships. The Chiefs are already the first team to win back-to-back Super Bowls and now this could be the third step in the kingdom dynasty.
This will be the Chief’s second recent Super Bowl rumble with the Philadelphia Eagles, as they met each other back in 2023, where the Chiefs secured a 38-35 victory. Will this one be different? Since then, the Eagles have made many roster moves and additions. The most significant change is undoubtedly the addition of Super-Star Running-back, Saquon Barkley. The New York Giants really fumbled the Philly Miracle that saved Sirianni’s season. Saquon Barkley quite literally put Coach Sirianni on his back, and hurdled him out of the hot seat that the Philly Phantom’s persecuted him to earlier in the year.
Will this Philly Special be special enough to dethrone King Mahomes? It felt short in 2023, but does Barkley have enough bunnies to hurdle over the past and be the determining factor? Or, will Mahomes establish himself in history as “3-Peat-Patty”?
